The catwalks have spoken. Boots have been styled or even re-invented to suit any style from conservative to fashion statement making. John Elliot used combat boots. Michael Kors played it up with plaid. Isabel Marant used a cone heel to make a design statement about shape. As such, I have spotted the most intoxicating boot trends that we’ll be wearing this fall and winter from cowboy to combat boots and red hot stilettos to knee high 70’s boots. Animal prints, laces, buckles, glittery shines and animal prints are the tools for a twist to some classic looks that take footwear game to a whole new level. Let’s step into them… shall we?
A new generation of western cowboy boots had me gasping for air. Some of them have been totally re-invented to look like disco boots. However, a pair of silver metallic color boots is probably the most wearable version of them, that I would pair with a work uniform jumpsuit and a belt bag. Then there are laces and buckles. These two features alone made ankle boots more interesting than ever. But, their actual style is defined mostly by their heel – block, cone or stiletto.
Designers have been surely experimenting with that a lot. Some of the most wearable versions are the peep toe sock boot, the red stiletto boot and most of the animal print ones. Leopard print is still hot, but the new “it” print is the snake skin or zebra. Personally, I think the snake skin print is more wearable than the zebra. Let me not forget – sequins of course. They are making a similarly strong fashion ripple in shoes like in clothes. I bet that we’ll be feeling their party vibe though more during the winter holidays. As for plaid print boots as seen by Michael Kors, well I think that’s where I get off-board. Last but not least, high-thigh boots are all about a luxe look and feel. Hence, suede is one of the best timeless choices that won’t let you down, especially in beige and camel.
I believe these are the most wearable boot trends for this upcoming season. The good thing is that most of these will be worn for a long time. What do you reckon? Any favorites? Love to know!
Keep smiling and rocking away…
