How to Wear and Rock Knitwear This Fall

With winter just a step away, layering is a foolproof way to dress ourselves and our homes. But there’s a certain charm to knitwear that not even layering can beat. Good old fashioned jumpers or sweaters are lurking in the back corner of our wardrobe to serve us graciously once again during the cold days of winter. The good news are, that after a long time they’re back in fashion, even the grandfather looking ones! And celebrities like Katie Holmes, Kaia Gerber and Hailey Baldwin are all embracing them. Therefore, today I’ll share with you some styling tips and inspiration to make your knitwear rock again.

Sweaters come in various sizes, fits, and colors. Some of them have a more intense texture appearance than others but nonetheless, they all add texture. Therefore, go for a juxtaposition with materials like leather, silk and velvet. Turtlenecks have a timeless elegance, so you can’t go wrong with them.

Notice that sweaters this season are not overly long and when they’re a bit on the long side, just tuck the front in. (Personally, I prefer to tuck one of sides in instead). Next, accessorize them with lots of long necklaces, statement earrings (I recommend tassel ones) and add on a head band or hat. Pair them with tartan checks, denims, faux leather skirts or leggings and wide leg pants.

Track pants are also a great option. But you can always take it up a notch by wearing a sequin pencil skirt or a soft pleat one. Don’t be afraid to mix stripes with solid colors or add a snake or leopard print into the ensemble. And a note to remember, yellow is the accent color to go to when you want to make it all more interesting.

I know burgundy, maroon and emerald greens are reigning nowadays, however yellow works very well when an element of surprise is required in an outfit to give it a wow factor. See the photos below and judge for yourself what works best for you…;)
